Prediction

Since August 2000, Villa have won six meetings compared to Spurs' five, out of a total of 18 games.

Honours were even last season, with the Aston Villa - Tottenham match at Villa Park ending in a 2-1 Spurs victory, whilst the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane went Villa's way with the same scoreline.

If Spurs continue with the mentality they had against Wigan, Villa are in for a difficult 90 minutes. 

Tottenham will hoping for an easy win over Villa, as doing so could allow them to overtake neighbouring rivals Arsenal, who are currently in third spot on equal points and face a difficult challenge against Chelsea on the weekend.

This is an eagerly awaited clash, and Spurs may nick it by a goal or two on current form. However, Villa will be intent on knocking them off their pedestal and so we should be in for a tight clash.
