Middlesbrough drew 0-0 with Fulham at home in their last league outing. In their last five, Boro have won one, drawn two and lost two, earning five points from the fifteen on offer.

Middlesbrough are currently 18th in the league, three points behind 17th placed Blackburn and one point ahead of 19th placed Newcastle.

Middlesbrough midfielder Gary O'Neil will returns from suspension for this match, and Didier Digard may be fit for this match after a two month absense. However, Boro will still be without Emanuel Pogatetz, whilst Chris Riggott is doubtful.

The two sides drew 1-1 earlier this season, and last season's Arsenal vs Middlesbrough match ended with the same scoreline.

After their sensational 4-4 draw with Liverpool during the week, the Gunners showed that they can still play at the very best level in spite of a huge absentee list.
