Prediction

Everton beat West Ham 3-1 earlier this season at Upton Park, whilst last season's Everton vs West Ham fixture ended in a 1-1 draw.

With only two matches remaining in the season, Everton are assured of a spot in next season's Europa League and may also clinch fifth spot on the ladder, with only one point currently separating the Toffees and current fifth place Aston Villa.

West Ham, too, could qualify for Europe with good results from their remaining fixtures, and the Hammers will be doing all they can to take seventh place. With Carlton Cole likely to return for West Ham's remaining matches, his presence and scoring ability could give Hammers the push they need to grab the final Europa League spot.

Everton have been strong at home in recent times, with the FA Cup Finalists winning four of their last six at Goodison Park. West Ham, in spite of holding a good away record this season, have been stuttering a bit lately and have only won two of their last six on the road.

The Toffees will want to keep up the pace — if not overtake — Aston Villa this weekend, and will likely put a dent in the Hammers' European campaign with a win here. But expect a tight showdown that could easily end dead-locked at the end of the ninety minutes.
