Mamady Sidibe should return within the next couple of weeks after being out for six months with a knee injury, while Ibrahima Sonko has joined Hull on a season long loan.

Chelsea

Chelsea have faced a whirlwind of criticism in the last two weeks surrounding their capture of young Frenchman Gael Kakuta.

The inappropriate/illegal capture of the Frenchman has brought a severe punishment upon the club that will restrict them from participation in the transfer market until January of 2011.

With the spotlight on the recent handlings of the club, Carlo Ancelotti must be overjoyed to finally get his team out on the pitch and focus on something other than what has been said in the media.

On the pitch, Ancelotti’s men have had little to be ashamed of. Chelsea sit top of the table on 12 points from four games played, the most recent of their victories coming at Stamford Bridge when they thrashed Burnley 3-0.

Frank Lampard will be coming off a two goal performance against Croatia as England booked its place in the World Cup Finals in South Africa.

Joe Cole and Paulo Ferreira have returned to training with the Chelsea squad after long term injuries but will likely not feature against Stoke.

Prediction

Chelsea vs Stoke meetings last season saw the Blues win both matches (2-0 at Britannia Stadium and 2-1 at Stamford Bridge).

Chelsea are rightful favourites entering the match, although given the current circumstances surrounding the clubs, this could be the perfect time for Stoke to pull off an upset.

Stoke are well known for their tight play at home and if Chelsea struggle to create early, Stoke may grow in confidence.

Tuncay is a fantastic signing and could make an instant impact.
