Prediction

Manchester United looked the stronger of the two sides in the Inter Milan - Man Utd first-leg 0-0 draw at San Siro, with the Red Devils eyeing up a quintuple title pull this season after winning both the Carling Cup and the Club World Cup, as well as making the semi-finals of the FA Cup, leading the Premier League by seven points with a match in hand, and of course, looking on form in the Champions League.


With the home crowd at Old Trafford behind them, Manchester United will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with; they have not lost a single of their last 18 Champions League matches at home nor have they lost any of their last 20 in the competition.

Additionally, they have only lost to an Italian side at home in two out of fifteen encounters, and have only been eliminated in the last 16 stage twice - although one of these losses came at the hands of a side managed by Inter Milan's current boss, Jose Mourinho.

With Inter Milan's defence weakened by injury woes, and with Manchester United's recent unstoppable form in all competitions, the Red Devils will look fairly comfortable favourites in this meeting of two of Europe's best.

Still, with the only real bane of Sir Alex Ferguson being found in Jose Mourinho, the "Special One" may pull some surprises in this match as he attempts to repeat history against his former Premier League arch-rival.

However, at the end of the day, all signs point towards a Manchester United victory in this second-leg fixture.
